(First) Sailing from Santa Margherita (GE) to Marina di Pisa Finally I am going to get to know you better...let's sail for one hundred miles together, just me and you Pius! We reached the Arno, the river that after crossing Tuscany passes through Florence and Pisa, one of the 4 A ncients   Marine  Republics.    The Arno is navigable for some miles until the first bridge, then with a tender rib you can reach easily Pisa and then Florence among dozens of "Bilancioni" an ancient way of fishing small fishes. In Arnovecchio, an old historic small harbour on the Arno, I introduced Pius to  Pippus, our dear and beloved old Swan 44 S&S . We were moored next to the Natural Reserve of San Rossore Migliarino  with hundreds of deer, fawns and wild boars free to run about among the oak forest and the Arno river. And in the background you can see the Apuan Alps where the best marble in the world has been mined since the 1st Century B.C.   A new low pressure...

Last 2021 leg: - Palos, Villa Real de San Antonio (Portugal) and Ria Formosa (Faro).

For the last stage of 2021 two superlative visits: - Palos (Spain) , place of preparation of the 3 caravels and departure point of the Greatest Expedition of Cristoforo Colombo; - Ria Formosa (Faro-Portugal) , the Heaven on earth for anchorage; Palos  is located on the left bank of the Tinto River estuary where it joins the Odiel River. It' s famous because from its small village of La Rabida , on August 3, 1492, Cristoforo Colombo aboard the Santa María, Vicente Yáñez Pinzón aboard the Niña and Martín Alonso Pinzón aboard the Pinta set sail for the Greatest adventure:  Prove to the world that for the 1st time sailing to the West they could discover new islands and new continents. October 2020 - from Sicily to Tunisia passing through Pantelleria

Once in Licata harbor we moored beside a motor yacht,  L'erg Bleu, the only one that we like:  a Grand Banks. Alain, Hend and Brigitte. Soon we became good friends and we visited Valle dei Templi in Agrigento  a true paradise for archeology lovers. Our friendship actually brought us to follow them to Tunisia... Hend is Tunisian and with Alain, his husband are leaving there from the 90ies. So talking and talking with them I was starting wondering to go back to Tunisia after decades of desert exploration. So instead heading to Greece we changed our direction...Tunisia, we are arriving! but first a compulsory stop, the island of capperi & Passito:    Pantelleria. Passito wineyard.   End of September the bunches of grapes are taken to the greenhouses to dry. Magalithic settlement dating back to about 5000 years ago  Capers, one's best in the world.
