Prisoners and warders were the only inhabitants of Asinara for about 110 years, until the closure of the prison in December 1997.

Construction on the island has been forbidden for the last century. A real forgotten land!

Just 7 miles far there's a crystal water anchorage

A cheap and quiet marina to leave your boat is Castelsardo...
halfway from Costa Smeralda, Asinara and Alghero.

(First) Sailing from Santa Margherita (GE) to Marina di Pisa Finally I am going to get to know you better...let's sail for one hundred miles together, just me and you Pius! We reached the Arno, the river that after crossing Tuscany passes through Florence and Pisa, one of the 4 A ncients   Marine  Republics.    The Arno is navigable for some miles until the first bridge, then with a tender rib you can reach easily Pisa and then Florence among dozens of "Bilancioni" an ancient way of fishing small fishes. August 2021- Guadalquivir sailing up to Seville

  A true sailing enthusiast CANNOT avoid sailing up the Guadalquivir up to Seville. The navigation of the Guadalquivir is not binding but must be planned carefully by contacting the: Port Authority of Seville,  T +34 954 24 73 00 -  puertodesevilla@apsevilla.com The port authority releases all the informations relating the tides and relative timetables to be respected for navigation up to the first dam lock (buoy n.72) where you must arrive on time in the late evening for the dam to open and then continue the navigation to the drawbridge entrance to the center of Seville. It's a full day of motoring because sailing is prohibited. The peculiarity of this navigation is to plan well your average speed in order to be able to arrive at the locks and the drawbridge at the booked times. October 2020 - from Sicily to Tunisia passing through Pantelleria

Once in Licata harbor we moored beside a motor yacht,  L'erg Bleu, the only one that we like:  a Grand Banks. Alain, Hend and Brigitte. Soon we became good friends and we visited Valle dei Templi in Agrigento  a true paradise for archeology lovers. Our friendship actually brought us to follow them to Tunisia... Hend is Tunisian and with Alain, his husband are leaving there from the 90ies. So talking and talking with them I was starting wondering to go back to Tunisia after decades of desert exploration. So instead heading to Greece we changed our direction...Tunisia, we are arriving! but first a compulsory stop, the island of capperi & Passito:    Pantelleria.
